Ingredients
- Okra (Bhindi) - 250 grams
- Rice flour - 2 tablespoons
- Besan (Gram flour) - 2 tablespoons
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Red chili powder - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - to taste
- Oil - for shallow frying
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- Wash the okra thoroughly and dry them with a kitchen towel. Trim the tops and tails, and cut them into 1-inch pieces.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the rice flour, besan, turmeric powder, red chili powder, cumin powder, and salt to create a spice mix.
- Add the chopped okra to the spice mix and toss well to ensure the okra is evenly coated with the flour and spices.
- Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat and add enough oil for shallow frying.
- Once the oil is hot, add the coated okra pieces in a single layer. Fry for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally until they become golden and crispy.
- Remove the fried okra from the pan and place them on paper towels to absorb excess oil.
- Drizzle with lemon juice before serving for added flavor. Serve hot with your favorite chutney or yogurt.
