Ingredients
- Besan (chickpea flour) - 100 grams
- Ghee (clarified butter) - 30 grams
- Powdered jaggery - 50 grams
- Chopped almonds - 20 grams
- Chopped cashews - 20 grams
- Cardamom powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- A pinch of salt
- Water - 2 tablespoons
Steps
- In a heavy-bottomed pan, heat the ghee on low flame until melted.
- Add the besan to the pan and roast it on low heat, stirring continuously until it turns golden brown and emits a nutty aroma, about 10-12 minutes.
- Stir in the chopped almonds and cashews, and roast for another 2-3 minutes.
- Add the powdered jaggery, cardamom powder, and a pinch of salt to the roasted mixture. Mix well until the jaggery melts completely, about 2-3 minutes.
- Gradually add water, stirring the mixture until it binds together. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
- Once cool enough to handle, grease your palms with a little ghee and shape the mixture into small round balls (ladoos).
- Let the ladoos cool completely before serving or storing.
