Ingredients

  • Besan (chickpea flour) - 100 grams
  • Ghee (clarified butter) - 30 grams
  • Powdered jaggery - 50 grams
  • Chopped almonds - 20 grams
  • Chopped cashews - 20 grams
  • Cardamom powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • A pinch of salt
  • Water - 2 tablespoons

Steps

  1. In a heavy-bottomed pan, heat the ghee on low flame until melted.
  2. Add the besan to the pan and roast it on low heat, stirring continuously until it turns golden brown and emits a nutty aroma, about 10-12 minutes.
  3. Stir in the chopped almonds and cashews, and roast for another 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add the powdered jaggery, cardamom powder, and a pinch of salt to the roasted mixture. Mix well until the jaggery melts completely, about 2-3 minutes.
  5. Gradually add water, stirring the mixture until it binds together. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
  6. Once cool enough to handle, grease your palms with a little ghee and shape the mixture into small round balls (ladoos).
  7. Let the ladoos cool completely before serving or storing.
