  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
  • Black salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Regular salt - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Water - as needed (approximately 1/4 cup)
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon (optional)

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, chopped spinach, cumin seeds, black salt, and regular salt.
  3. Drizzle in the olive oil and mix until the flour resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Gradually add water, a tablespoon at a time, and knead the mixture into a smooth dough. Cover and let it rest for 10 minutes.
  5. Divide the dough into small balls (about the size of a golf ball).
  6. On a lightly floured surface, roll each ball into a thin circle, about 4-5 inches in diameter.
  7. Place the rolled puris on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. If desired, sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until the puris are golden brown and crispy.
  9. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving with yogurt or chutney.
