- Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
- Black salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Regular salt - 1/4 teaspoon
- Water - as needed (approximately 1/4 cup)
- Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon (optional)
Steps
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
- In a mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, chopped spinach, cumin seeds, black salt, and regular salt.
- Drizzle in the olive oil and mix until the flour resembles coarse crumbs.
- Gradually add water, a tablespoon at a time, and knead the mixture into a smooth dough. Cover and let it rest for 10 minutes.
- Divide the dough into small balls (about the size of a golf ball).
- On a lightly floured surface, roll each ball into a thin circle, about 4-5 inches in diameter.
- Place the rolled puris on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. If desired, sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until the puris are golden brown and crispy.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving with yogurt or chutney.
