Ingredients

  • Whole wheat flour - 150 grams
  • Warm water - 120 ml
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Fresh coriander - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, cumin seeds, turmeric powder, and salt.
  2. Add warm water gradually while kneading to form a soft dough. Incorporate the olive oil and knead for another 2-3 minutes.
  3. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 15 minutes.
  4. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
  5. Divide the rested dough into 4 equal portions and roll each portion into a ball.
  6. On a floured surface, roll each ball into a flat circle about 5 mm thick.
  7. Sprinkle chopped coriander and sesame seeds on top of each rolled dough and gently press them in.
  8. Place the rolled rotis on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until the rotis are golden brown and crispy.
  10. Remove from the oven, let them cool slightly, and serve warm.
