- Whole wheat flour - 200 grams
- Fresh methi (fenugreek) leaves - 100 grams, chopped
- Yogurt - 50 grams
- Water - 100 ml (adjust as needed)
- Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Red chili powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Oil - 1 tablespoon (for dough)
- Oil - for brushing
Steps
- In a large bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, chopped methi leaves, yogurt, cumin seeds, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt.
- Add 1 tablespoon of oil and mix well.
- Gradually add water and knead the mixture into a soft, pliable dough. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 15 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (392°F).
- Once the dough has rested, divide it into 4 equal portions.
- Roll each portion into a ball and then flatten it into a disc about 1/4 inch thick.
- Place the rolled parathas on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
- Brush the tops of the parathas with oil.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until they are golden brown and slightly puffed up, flipping them halfway through.
- Remove the baked parathas from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving.
