Ingredients

  • Fresh methi (fenugreek leaves) - 100 grams, chopped
  • Paneer (Indian cottage cheese) - 200 grams, cubed
  • Heavy cream - 100 ml
  • Onion - 1 medium, finely chopped
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 inch, grated
  • Green chili - 1, slit
  • Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Garam masala - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Fresh coriander leaves - for garnish

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a pan, heat oil over medium heat and add cumin seeds. Once they sizzle, add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  3. Add minced garlic, grated ginger, and slit green chili. Cook for another 2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Stir in turmeric powder, and salt, and cook for 1 minute before adding the chopped methi leaves. Sauté until methi wilts down.
  5. Add the cubed paneer and heavy cream to the pan. Mix well and cook for another 5 minutes to combine the flavors.
  6. Sprinkle garam masala over the mixture and stir well. Remove from heat.
  7. Transfer the mixture into a greased baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes until the top is slightly golden.
  9. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.
