Ingredients

  • Besan (gram flour) - 100 grams
  • Jaggery (grated) - 50 grams
  • Ghee (clarified butter) - 1 tablespoon
  • Almonds (chopped) - 2 tablespoons
  • Cashews (chopped) - 2 tablespoons
  • Cardamom powder - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Baking powder - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Milk - 50 ml
  • Vanilla extract - 1/2 teaspoon

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a small baking dish.
  2. In a pan, heat 1 tablespoon of ghee on low heat and add 100 grams of besan, stirring continuously until it turns golden brown and releases a nutty aroma.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix the grated jaggery with 50 ml of milk until dissolved.
  4. Add the jaggery mixture to the roasted besan along with chopped almonds, cashews, cardamom powder, and baking powder; mix well until combined.
  5. Pour the mixture into the greased baking dish and flatten the top with a spatula.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until the edges turn golden and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  7. Remove from the oven and let it cool for 10 minutes before cutting into squares.
