Ingredients

  • Beetroot - 200 grams, grated
  • Potato - 150 grams, boiled and mashed
  • Onion - 1 small, finely chopped
  • Green chili - 1, finely chopped
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Garam masala - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon (or to taste)
  • Fresh coriander leaves - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Bread crumbs - 1/4 cup
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine grated beetroot, mashed potato, chopped onion, green chili, grated ginger, coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala, and salt.
  3. Mix all the ingredients thoroughly until well combined. Add chopped coriander leaves and bread crumbs, and mix again.
  4. Shape the mixture into small patties or tikki, about 1/2 inch thick.
  5. Place the tikki on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Brush or spray the tops lightly with olive oil.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy.
  7. Remove from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes before serving.
