- Beetroot - 200 grams, grated
- Potato - 150 grams, boiled and mashed
- Onion - 1 small, finely chopped
- Green chili - 1, finely chopped
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Garam masala - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon (or to taste)
- Fresh coriander leaves - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Bread crumbs - 1/4 cup
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
- In a mixing bowl, combine grated beetroot, mashed potato, chopped onion, green chili, grated ginger, coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala, and salt.
- Mix all the ingredients thoroughly until well combined. Add chopped coriander leaves and bread crumbs, and mix again.
- Shape the mixture into small patties or tikki, about 1/2 inch thick.
- Place the tikki on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Brush or spray the tops lightly with olive oil.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy.
- Remove from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes before serving.
