Ingredients

  • Bajra flour - 1 cup
  • Warm water - 1/2 cup
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Ghee or oil - for cooking

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the bajra flour and salt.
  2. Gradually add warm water, mixing with your hands to form a soft dough.
  3. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 10-15 minutes.
  4. Divide the dough into two equal portions and shape each into a ball.
  5. On a flat surface, dust with a little bajra flour and roll out each ball into a circle about 6-7 inches in diameter.
  6. Heat a tawa (griddle) on medium-high heat and place the rolled roti on it.
  7. Cook for 1-2 minutes until small bubbles form, then flip it over.
  8. Cook the other side for another 1-2 minutes, pressing gently with a spatula.
  9. Brush with ghee or oil and flip again for a few seconds until cooked through.
  10. Repeat with the second roti and serve hot with ghee or pickle.
