- Bajra flour - 1 cup
- Warm water - 1/2 cup
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Ghee or oil - for cooking
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the bajra flour and salt.
- Gradually add warm water, mixing with your hands to form a soft dough.
- Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 10-15 minutes.
- Divide the dough into two equal portions and shape each into a ball.
- On a flat surface, dust with a little bajra flour and roll out each ball into a circle about 6-7 inches in diameter.
- Heat a tawa (griddle) on medium-high heat and place the rolled roti on it.
- Cook for 1-2 minutes until small bubbles form, then flip it over.
- Cook the other side for another 1-2 minutes, pressing gently with a spatula.
- Brush with ghee or oil and flip again for a few seconds until cooked through.
- Repeat with the second roti and serve hot with ghee or pickle.
