Ingredients

  • Fish fillets (preferably pomfret or catfish) - 300 grams
  • Yogurt - 100 grams
  • Ginger paste - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic paste - 1 tablespoon
  • Lemon juice - 2 tablespoons
  • Red chili powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Garam masala - 1 teaspoon
  • Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves (chopped) - 2 tablespoons
  • Oil - for grilling

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine yogurt, ginger paste, garlic paste, lemon juice, red chili powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, coriander powder, cumin powder, and salt to create a marinade.
  2. Add the fish fillets to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes (or up to 1 hour for stronger flavor).
  3. Preheat the grill or a grill pan over medium heat and brush with a little oil to prevent sticking.
  4. Remove the fish from the marinade and place it on the grill. Cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until the fish is cooked through and has grill marks.
  5. Garnish with chopped fresh coriander leaves before serving. Enjoy hot with lemon wedges and your favorite chutney.
