- Potatoes - 250 grams (peeled and boiled)
- Cauliflower - 150 grams (finely chopped)
- Green peas - 50 grams (optional, boiled)
- Onion - 1 small (finely chopped)
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon (grated)
- Green chili - 1 (finely chopped, adjust to taste)
- Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon
- Garam masala - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - to taste
- Fresh coriander leaves - 2 tablespoons (chopped)
- Rice flour - 2 tablespoons (for binding)
- Oil - for shallow frying
Steps
- In a large mixing bowl, mash the boiled potatoes until smooth.
- Add the finely chopped cauliflower, green peas, onion, ginger, green chili, coriander powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, and salt to the mashed potatoes.
- Mix everything well until combined, then add the chopped coriander leaves and rice flour to the mixture. Mix until you have a sticky but firm dough.
- Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a flat round patty (tikki).
- Heat oil in a non-stick pan over medium heat. Once hot, place the tikkis in the pan, ensuring not to overcrowd.
- Fry the tikkis for about 4-5 minutes on each side until they are golden brown and crispy.
- Remove the tikkis and place them on a paper towel to absorb excess oil.
- Serve hot with mint chutney or ketchup.
