Ingredients

  • Potatoes - 250 grams (peeled and boiled)
  • Cauliflower - 150 grams (finely chopped)
  • Green peas - 50 grams (optional, boiled)
  • Onion - 1 small (finely chopped)
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon (grated)
  • Green chili - 1 (finely chopped, adjust to taste)
  • Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Garam masala - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves - 2 tablespoons (chopped)
  • Rice flour - 2 tablespoons (for binding)
  • Oil - for shallow frying

Steps

  1. In a large mixing bowl, mash the boiled potatoes until smooth.
  2. Add the finely chopped cauliflower, green peas, onion, ginger, green chili, coriander powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, and salt to the mashed potatoes.
  3. Mix everything well until combined, then add the chopped coriander leaves and rice flour to the mixture. Mix until you have a sticky but firm dough.
  4. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a flat round patty (tikki).
  5. Heat oil in a non-stick pan over medium heat. Once hot, place the tikkis in the pan, ensuring not to overcrowd.
  6. Fry the tikkis for about 4-5 minutes on each side until they are golden brown and crispy.
  7. Remove the tikkis and place them on a paper towel to absorb excess oil.
  8. Serve hot with mint chutney or ketchup.
