Ingredients

  • Almonds - 100 grams
  • Desiccated coconut - 50 grams
  • Jaggery - 30 grams (grated)
  • Milk - 50 ml
  • Cardamom powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Ghee - 1 tablespoon
  • Chopped almonds (for garnish) - 10 grams

Steps

  1. Dry roast the almonds in a pan over medium heat until they are golden brown and fragrant, about 5-7 minutes. Let them cool.
  2. Once cool, grind the roasted almonds into a coarse powder using a food processor.
  3. In the same pan, add the ghee and heat it over low heat. Add the grated jaggery and milk, stirring until the jaggery completely dissolves.
  4. Add the almond powder, desiccated coconut, and cardamom powder to the pan. Mix well and cook for about 5-7 minutes until the mixture thickens and starts to leave the sides of the pan.
  5. Remove the mixture from the heat and let it cool slightly. Once cool enough to handle, grease your hands with a little ghee and shape the mixture into small round balls (ladoo).
  6. Roll the ladoos in chopped almonds for added texture and flavor.
  7. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
