Ingredients
- Almonds - 100 grams
- Desiccated coconut - 50 grams
- Jaggery - 30 grams (grated)
- Milk - 50 ml
- Cardamom powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Ghee - 1 tablespoon
- Chopped almonds (for garnish) - 10 grams
Steps
- Dry roast the almonds in a pan over medium heat until they are golden brown and fragrant, about 5-7 minutes. Let them cool.
- Once cool, grind the roasted almonds into a coarse powder using a food processor.
- In the same pan, add the ghee and heat it over low heat. Add the grated jaggery and milk, stirring until the jaggery completely dissolves.
- Add the almond powder, desiccated coconut, and cardamom powder to the pan. Mix well and cook for about 5-7 minutes until the mixture thickens and starts to leave the sides of the pan.
- Remove the mixture from the heat and let it cool slightly. Once cool enough to handle, grease your hands with a little ghee and shape the mixture into small round balls (ladoo).
- Roll the ladoos in chopped almonds for added texture and flavor.
- Serve immediately or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
