- Almonds - 200 grams
- Condensed milk - 100 grams
- Ghee (clarified butter) - 2 tablespoons
- Cardamom powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Saffron strands - a pinch
- Chopped pistachios - 1 tablespoon (for garnish)
Steps
- Soak almonds in hot water for about 15 minutes, then peel the skins off.
- Once peeled, grind the almonds in a food processor to a fine powder.
- In a non-stick pan, heat the ghee over medium heat and add the almond powder, stirring continuously.
- Add the condensed milk, cardamom powder, and saffron strands to the pan. Mix well until the mixture thickens and starts to leave the sides of the pan.
- Remove the pan from heat and let it cool slightly. Grease a small tray or plate with ghee.
- Transfer the mixture to the greased tray and flatten it with a spatula, smoothing the surface.
- Sprinkle chopped pistachios on top for garnish and press them gently into the burfi.
- Allow the burfi to cool completely, then cut it into squares or diamonds. Serve and enjoy!
