Ingredients

  • Almonds - 200 grams
  • Condensed milk - 100 grams
  • Ghee (clarified butter) - 2 tablespoons
  • Cardamom powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Saffron strands - a pinch
  • Chopped pistachios - 1 tablespoon (for garnish)

Steps

  1. Soak almonds in hot water for about 15 minutes, then peel the skins off.
  2. Once peeled, grind the almonds in a food processor to a fine powder.
  3. In a non-stick pan, heat the ghee over medium heat and add the almond powder, stirring continuously.
  4. Add the condensed milk, cardamom powder, and saffron strands to the pan. Mix well until the mixture thickens and starts to leave the sides of the pan.
  5. Remove the pan from heat and let it cool slightly. Grease a small tray or plate with ghee.
  6. Transfer the mixture to the greased tray and flatten it with a spatula, smoothing the surface.
  7. Sprinkle chopped pistachios on top for garnish and press them gently into the burfi.
  8. Allow the burfi to cool completely, then cut it into squares or diamonds. Serve and enjoy!
