Ingredients

  • Rice flour - 200 grams
  • Water - 180 ml
  • Carrot, grated - 50 grams
  • Onion, finely chopped - 50 grams
  • Coriander leaves, chopped - 2 tablespoons
  • Green chili, finely chopped - 1 (adjust to taste)
  • Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Oil - for cooking

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine rice flour, grated carrot, chopped onion, coriander leaves, green chili, cumin seeds, and salt.
  2. Gradually add water to the mixture and knead to form a soft dough. Adjust water as necessary to achieve a pliable consistency.
  3. Divide the dough into two equal portions and shape each portion into a ball.
  4. Take a ball of dough and flatten it into a disc on a parchment paper or a clean surface, about 1/4 inch thick.
  5. Heat a non-stick skillet or tawa over medium heat and add a few drops of oil.
  6. Carefully transfer the flattened dough to the skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes on one side until golden brown and cooked through.
  7. Flip the roti, add a little oil around the edges, and cook for another 3-4 minutes on the other side.
  8. Repeat the process with the second portion of dough.
  9. Serve hot with chutney or yogurt.
