- Rice flour - 200 grams
- Water - 180 ml
- Carrot, grated - 50 grams
- Onion, finely chopped - 50 grams
- Coriander leaves, chopped - 2 tablespoons
- Green chili, finely chopped - 1 (adjust to taste)
- Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Oil - for cooking
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine rice flour, grated carrot, chopped onion, coriander leaves, green chili, cumin seeds, and salt.
- Gradually add water to the mixture and knead to form a soft dough. Adjust water as necessary to achieve a pliable consistency.
- Divide the dough into two equal portions and shape each portion into a ball.
- Take a ball of dough and flatten it into a disc on a parchment paper or a clean surface, about 1/4 inch thick.
- Heat a non-stick skillet or tawa over medium heat and add a few drops of oil.
- Carefully transfer the flattened dough to the skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes on one side until golden brown and cooked through.
- Flip the roti, add a little oil around the edges, and cook for another 3-4 minutes on the other side.
- Repeat the process with the second portion of dough.
- Serve hot with chutney or yogurt.
