Ingredients

  • Ground beef - 300 grams (80% lean)
  • Zaatar spice mix - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Burger buns - 2 pieces
  • Tahini - 2 tablespoons
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons (chopped)
  • Tomato - 1 medium (sliced)
  • Cucumber - 1/2 medium (sliced)
  • Red onion - 1/4 medium (sliced)

Steps

  1. In a bowl, mix the ground beef with zaatar spice, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
  2. Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into burger patties.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
  4. While the patties are cooking, prepare the tahini sauce by mixing tahini, lemon juice, and chopped parsley in a small bowl. Add a little water to thin it out if necessary.
  5. Toast the burger buns in a separate pan or in the oven until golden brown.
  6. Assemble the burgers by placing each patty on a bun, topping with slices of tomato, cucumber, and red onion, and drizzling with the tahini sauce.
  7. Serve immediately with your choice of sides.
