Ingredients
- Ground lamb - 400 grams
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Ground cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Ground coriander - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Burger buns - 2
- Lettuce leaves - 2
- Tomato - 1, sliced
- Red onion - 1/2, thinly sliced
- Cucumber - 1/2, grated
- Plain Greek yogurt - 150 grams
- Fresh dill - 1 tablespoon, chopped
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground lamb, minced garlic, ground cumin, ground coriander, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
- Divide the lamb mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about 2 cm thick.
- Heat olive oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat. Cook the lamb patties for 5-7 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
- While the patties are cooking, prepare the tzatziki sauce by combining the grated cucumber, plain Greek yogurt, chopped dill, and lemon juice in a bowl. Mix well and season with salt to taste.
- Toast the burger buns in the same frying pan or in a toaster until golden brown.
- Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by the lamb patty, sliced tomato, and red onion. Top with a generous amount of tzatziki sauce and close with the top bun.
- Serve immediately with your choice of sides.
