Ingredients

  • Ground lamb - 400 grams
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Red onion - 50 grams, finely chopped
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Cayenne pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Lettuce leaves - 4 large, for wrapping
  • Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
  • Cucumber - 1 small, sliced
  • Red bell pepper - 1/2, sliced

Steps

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground lamb, minced garlic, chopped red onion, parsley, cumin, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  2. Divide the mixture into 2 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about 2.5 cm thick.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a grill pan or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for 5-6 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
  4. While the patties are cooking, prepare your salad toppings. Slice the tomato, cucumber, and red bell pepper.
  5. Once the patties are cooked, remove them from the heat and let them rest for a couple of minutes.
  6. To serve, place each patty in a large lettuce leaf and top with tomato, cucumber, and red bell pepper slices. Wrap the lettuce around the burger and enjoy!
