Ingredients
- Ground lamb - 400 grams
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Red onion - 1 small, finely chopped
- Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Dried oregano - 1 teaspoon
- Ground cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Ground coriander - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Feta cheese - 50 grams, crumbled (optional for topping)
- Lettuce leaves - 4 large, for wrapping
Steps
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground lamb, minced garlic, chopped red onion, parsley, oregano, cumin, coriander, salt, and black pepper.
- Mix the ingredients thoroughly with your hands until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.
- Form the mixture into 2 equal patties, about 2.5 cm thick.
- Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat and add the olive oil.
- Once hot, place the lamb patties on the grill/skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness (internal temperature should be 70°C for medium).
- Remove the patties from the heat and let them rest for a few minutes.
- To serve, place each patty on a large lettuce leaf, top with crumbled feta cheese if desired, and wrap the lettuce around the patty.
