Ingredients

  • Chicken breast - 300 grams, cut into 2.5 cm cubes
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Lemon juice - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Dried oregano - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Pita bread - 2 pieces
  • Cucumber - 1/2, diced for tzatziki
  • Greek yogurt - 150 grams
  • Dill - 1 tablespoon, chopped
  • Salt - 1/4 teaspoon for tzatziki
  • Fresh tomatoes - 1, sliced
  • Red onion - 1/2, thinly sliced

Steps

  1. In a bowl, mix olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, oregano, salt, and black pepper to create the marinade.
  2. Add the chicken cubes to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes.
  3. While the chicken marinates, prepare the tzatziki by mixing the diced cucumber, Greek yogurt, chopped dill, and 1/4 teaspoon of salt in a bowl. Set aside.
  4. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
  5. Thread the marinated chicken onto skewers. Grill the skewers for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through and has nice grill marks.
  6. Warm the pita bread on the grill for 1-2 minutes on each side.
  7. Serve the grilled chicken skewers with tzatziki, fresh tomatoes, red onion, and warm pita.
