Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour - 120 grams
  • Cocoa powder - 30 grams
  • Powdered sugar - 50 grams
  • Plant-based butter - 60 grams, melted
  • Almond milk - 100 ml
  • Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
  • Baking powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Dark chocolate (vegan) - 50 grams, chopped
  • Chopped walnuts - 30 grams

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, powdered sugar, and baking powder.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix the melted plant-based butter, almond milk, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until a dough forms.
  5. Divide the dough in half and roll out one half to fit the bottom of a 20 cm (8-inch) pie dish.
  6. Place the rolled-out dough in the pie dish and press it down gently.
  7. In a small saucepan, melt the chopped dark chocolate over low heat, stirring until smooth.
  8. Pour the melted chocolate into the crust and sprinkle the chopped walnuts on top.
  9. Roll out the second half of the dough and place it on top of the chocolate filling.
  10. Seal the edges by crimping with a fork and cut a few slits on top to allow steam to escape.
  11. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the crust is firm and slightly cracked.
  12. Allow to cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
