- Phyllo pastry - 6 sheets

- Milk - 250 ml
- Sugar - 50 grams
- Cornstarch - 30 grams
- Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
- Eggs - 1 large
- Cinnamon powder - 1 teaspoon
- Powdered sugar - for dusting
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- In a saucepan, combine milk, sugar, cornstarch, and vanilla extract. Whisk until smooth, then heat over medium heat, stirring continuously until the mixture thickens.
- Remove the saucepan from heat and allow the mixture to cool slightly before adding the beaten egg. Mix well to combine.
- Lay out one sheet of phyllo pastry on a clean, flat surface and brush it with melted butter. Repeat this process with three more sheets, layering them on top of one another.
- Pour half of the custard mixture over the layered phyllo and spread it evenly.
- Layer two more sheets of phyllo on top, brushing each with butter, then pour the remaining custard mixture and spread it evenly.
- Finish with one last layer of phyllo, brushing it generously with butter.
- Using a sharp knife, score the top layer into squares or diamond shapes for easy serving.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
- Remove from the oven, let it cool slightly, dust with powdered sugar and cinnamon before serving.
