Ingredients

  • Phyllo dough - 4 sheets
  • Walnuts, chopped - 100 grams
  • Almonds, chopped - 50 grams
  • Honey - 3 tablespoons
  • Cinnamon powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - a pinch

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped walnuts, chopped almonds, honey, cinnamon powder, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly coated.
  3. Lay one sheet of phyllo dough on a clean surface and brush lightly with olive oil. Place a second sheet on top and brush it again with olive oil.
  4. Spoon a portion of the nut mixture along one edge of the phyllo dough, leaving a border around the edges.
  5. Carefully roll the phyllo dough over the filling to form a log, tucking in the edges as you roll to seal the filling inside. Repeat this process with the remaining phyllo sheets and filling.
  6. Place the rolled pastries on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, and brush the tops with a little more olive oil.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
  8. Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly before slicing into pieces. Serve warm or at room temperature.
