Ingredients

  • Fresh sea scallops - 250 grams
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic cloves - 3, minced
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1/4 teaspoon

Steps

  1. Rinse the scallops under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. Season with salt, black pepper, and paprika on both sides.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  3. Add the scallops to the skillet in a single layer, making sure not to overcrowd them. Sear for 2-3 minutes without moving, until they develop a golden crust.
  4. Flip the scallops and add the minced garlic to the skillet. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the scallops are opaque and cooked through, being careful not to burn the garlic.
  5. Remove the skillet from heat and drizzle the lemon juice over the scallops. Sprinkle with chopped parsley before serving.
