Ingredients

  • Kefalotyri cheese - 200 grams
  • All-purpose flour - 50 grams
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Honey - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
  • Fresh lemon - 1
  • Fresh parsley - 1 tablespoon, chopped
  • Salt - to taste

Steps

  1. Slice the Kefalotyri cheese into 1 cm thick pieces.
  2. Lightly sprinkle salt on both sides of the cheese slices.
  3. Dredge each slice of cheese in all-purpose flour, shaking off any excess.
  4. Heat olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat.
  5. Once the oil is hot, carefully add the floured cheese slices to the skillet.
  6. Fry the cheese for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Remove the cheese from the skillet and place it on a plate.
  8. Drizzle honey over the hot cheese and sprinkle with roasted sesame seeds.
  9. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve with lemon wedges on the side.
