- Yellow bell pepper - 1 medium, sliced
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Dried oregano - 1 teaspoon
- Fresh basil - a handful, chopped
- Cherry tomatoes - 100 grams, halved
- Black olives - 50 grams, pitted and sliced
- Balsamic vinegar - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
- In a bowl, combine warm water and active dry yeast, letting it sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine whole wheat flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil, and knead until a smooth dough forms.
- Cover the dough with a cloth and let it rise in a warm place for about 20 minutes.
- While the dough rises, prepare the roasted peppers. Toss the sliced red and yellow bell peppers with garlic, olive oil, dried oregano, and salt, then spread them on a baking sheet.
- Roast the peppers in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes until they are tender and slightly charred.
- After the dough has risen, roll it out on a floured surface to your desired thickness and shape.
- Transfer the rolled-out dough to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Spread the roasted peppers evenly over the dough, then add the halved cherry tomatoes, sliced olives, and chopped fresh basil.
