- semolina - 50 grams
- all-purpose flour - 30 grams
- baking powder - 1 teaspoon
- Greek yogurt - 100 grams
- egg - 1 large
- honey - 2 tablespoons
- vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
- milk - 30 ml
- sugar - 30 grams
- water - 100 ml
- lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- slivered almonds - 10 grams
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a small baking dish.
- In a mixing bowl, combine semolina, all-purpose flour, and baking powder.
- In another bowl, whisk together Greek yogurt, egg, honey, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and smooth the top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- While the cake is baking, prepare the syrup by boiling water, sugar, and lemon juice in a saucepan for 5 minutes.
- Once the cake is done, remove it from the oven and immediately pour the hot syrup over it.
- Let the cake absorb the syrup for at least 15 minutes before serving.
- Garnish with slivered almonds before serving.
