  • semolina - 50 grams
  • all-purpose flour - 30 grams
  • baking powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Greek yogurt - 100 grams
  • egg - 1 large
  • honey - 2 tablespoons
  • vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
  • milk - 30 ml
  • sugar - 30 grams
  • water - 100 ml
  • lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • slivered almonds - 10 grams

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a small baking dish.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine semolina, all-purpose flour, and baking powder.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together Greek yogurt, egg, honey, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and smooth the top.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  7. While the cake is baking, prepare the syrup by boiling water, sugar, and lemon juice in a saucepan for 5 minutes.
  8. Once the cake is done, remove it from the oven and immediately pour the hot syrup over it.
  9. Let the cake absorb the syrup for at least 15 minutes before serving.
  10. Garnish with slivered almonds before serving.
