Ingredients

  • Ground pork - 300 grams
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Dried oregano - 1 teaspoon
  • Ground cumin - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Whole wheat pita bread - 2 pieces
  • Cucumber - 1/2, diced
  • Tomato - 1, diced
  • Red onion - 1/4, thinly sliced
  • Greek yogurt - 100 grams
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Feta cheese - 50 grams, crumbled

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine ground pork, minced garlic, dried oregano, ground cumin, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until fully incorporated.
  2. Form the pork mixture into two patties, about 1.5 cm thick.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until they are fully cooked and golden brown.
  4. While the patties are cooking, prepare the tzatziki sauce by mixing Greek yogurt, lemon juice, diced cucumber, and chopped parsley in a separate bowl. Season with salt to taste.
  5. Warm the whole wheat pita bread in a dry skillet or microwave for a few seconds until soft.
  6. Once the pork patties are cooked, place each patty on a pita, and top with diced tomato, sliced red onion, and crumbled feta cheese.
  7. Drizzle the tzatziki sauce over the top and serve immediately.
