Ingredients

  • Ground lamb - 250 grams
  • Garlic cloves - 2, minced
  • Red onion - 1 small, finely chopped
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Ground cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Ground coriander - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Pita bread - 2 pieces
  • Cucumber - 1/2, sliced
  • Tomato - 1, sliced
  • Lettuce - 2 leaves
  • Tzatziki sauce - 100 grams

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground lamb, minced garlic, chopped red onion, parsley, cumin, coriander, salt, and black pepper. Mix well with your hands until evenly combined.
  2. Shape the mixture into two patties, about 1.5 cm thick.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the patties and cook for about 5-6 minutes on each side or until they are cooked to your desired doneness.
  4. While the patties are cooking, warm the pita bread in a separate skillet or in the oven for a few minutes until soft.
  5. Once cooked, assemble the Pita Burger by placing a lamb patty in each warm pita.
  6. Top with cucumber slices, tomato slices, lettuce, and a generous dollop of tzatziki sauce.
  7. Fold the pita over the filling and serve immediately.
