Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour - 200 grams
  • Water - 120 ml
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Instant yeast - 1 teaspoon
  • Cucumber - ½ medium, grated
  • Greek yogurt - 200 grams
  • Garlic - 1 clove, minced
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Fresh dill - 1 tablespoon, chopped
  • Salt - to taste

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, and instant yeast. Mix well.
  2. In a separate bowl, warm the water slightly and add olive oil, then pour this mixture into the flour mixture.
  3. Knead the dough for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Cover the bowl with a damp cloth and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
  4. While the dough rises, prepare the tzatziki by mixing grated cucumber, Greek yogurt, minced garlic, lemon juice, dill, and salt in a bowl. Set aside in the refrigerator.
  5. Once the dough has risen, preheat a skillet or griddle over medium heat.
  6. Divide the dough into 2 equal portions and roll each into a flat circle, about 1 cm thick.
  7. Cook each pita in the preheated skillet for 2-3 minutes on each side, until puffed and lightly browned.
  8. Serve the warm pita bread with chilled tzatziki on the side.
