Ingredients
- All-purpose flour - 250 grams
- Warm water - 150 ml
- Active dry yeast - 7 grams
- Olive oil - 15 ml
- Salt - 5 grams
- Hummus - 100 grams
- Tzatziki - 100 grams
- Baba Ganoush - 100 grams
- Paprika - 1 gram (for garnish)
- Fresh parsley - a handful (for garnish)
Steps
- In a small bowl, combine warm water and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until foamy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the olive oil and the yeast mixture.
- Mix until a dough forms, then knead on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 250°C (482°F) and place a baking sheet inside to heat.
- Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into 4 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a ball and then flatten into discs about 1 cm thick.
- Carefully remove the hot baking sheet from the oven and place the pita discs on it. Bake for 5-7 minutes until puffed and lightly browned.
- Remove the pita from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving.
- Arrange the hummus, tzatziki, and baba ganoush in small bowls. Serve the warm pita bread alongside the dips, garnished with paprika and fresh parsley.
