Ingredients
- Ground beef - 250 grams
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Onion - 1 medium, diced
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Tomato paste - 2 tablespoons
- Canned diced tomatoes - 200 grams
- Dried oregano - 1 teaspoon
- Cinnamon - 1/4 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Eggs - 2 large
- Heavy cream - 150 ml
- Grated Parmesan cheese - 50 grams
- Cauliflower - 300 grams, riced
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat and sauté the diced onion until translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
- Stir in the ground beef, breaking it apart with a spoon, and cook until browned, about 7-10 minutes.
- Add the tomato paste, canned diced tomatoes, oregano, cinnamon, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- In a separate pot, steam or boil the riced cauliflower until tender, about 5 minutes. Drain well and let cool slightly.
- In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, and half of the Parmesan cheese until well combined.
- In a greased baking dish, layer the riced cauliflower evenly at the bottom.
- Pour the meat sauce over the cauliflower and spread it out evenly.
- Finally, pour the egg and cream mixture over the meat sauce, then sprinkle the remaining Parmesan cheese on top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the top is golden and set.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
