Ingredients

  • Pasta (spaghetti or penne) - 150 grams
  • Fresh or frozen peas - 100 grams
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Red onion - 1 small, finely chopped
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Fresh dill - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste
  • Parmesan cheese (optional) - 20 grams, grated

Steps

  1. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and chopped red onion, sautéing until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Add the peas to the skillet and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally until they are heated through.
  4. Once the pasta is cooked, reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water and then drain the pasta.
  5. Add the drained pasta to the skillet along with the reserved pasta water, lemon juice, chopped dill, salt, and pepper. Toss everything together until well combined and heated through.
  6. Serve immediately, topped with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
