Pasta with Basil

Ingredients
- Whole wheat pasta - 150 grams
- Fresh basil leaves - 50 grams
- Cherry tomatoes - 200 grams
- Extra virgin olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Feta cheese - 50 grams, crumbled
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
Steps
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the whole wheat pasta according to package instructions until al dente.
- While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the minced garlic to the skillet, sautéing for about 1 minute until fragrant but not browned.
- Halve the cherry tomatoes and add them to the skillet, cooking for about 3-4 minutes until they start to soften.
- Once the pasta is cooked, reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta and add it directly to the skillet with the tomatoes and garlic.
- Toss everything together, adding in the fresh basil leaves, lemon juice, and crumbled feta cheese.
- If the pasta seems dry, add a little reserved pasta water until you reach desired consistency.
- Season with salt and black pepper to taste, and serve warm.
