Ingredients

  • Octopus - 500 grams, cleaned
  • Olive oil - 4 tablespoons
  • Lemon juice - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Oregano - 1 tablespoon, dried
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped (for garnish)

Steps

  1. Start by boiling the cleaned octopus in a large pot of salted water for about 30 minutes or until tender. Remove and let it cool.
  2. In a bowl, combine olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, dried oregano, salt, black pepper, and paprika. Mix well to form a marinade.
  3. Cut the cooled octopus into manageable pieces, about 5-7 cm each.
  4. Marinate the octopus pieces in the mixture for at least 15 minutes to absorb the flavors.
  5. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Lightly oil the grill grates to prevent sticking.
  6. Grill the marinated octopus pieces for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until you see grill marks and the octopus is slightly charred.
  7. Remove from the grill and let it rest for a couple of minutes before serving.
  8. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and serve with lemon wedges on the side.
