- Ground lamb - 300 grams
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Red onion - 1 small, finely chopped
- Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Fresh mint - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Dried oregano - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Whole wheat burger buns - 2
- Cucumber - 1/2, sliced
- Tomato - 1, sliced
- Lettuce leaves - 2
- Greek yogurt - 100 grams
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- In a large bowl, combine the ground lamb, minced garlic, chopped red onion, parsley, mint, oregano, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until fully incorporated.
- Shape the lamb mixture into two equal-sized patties, about 2.5 cm thick.
- Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil.
- Cook the patties for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 75°C (165°F).
- While the burgers are cooking, prepare the yogurt sauce by mixing the Greek yogurt with lemon juice and a pinch of salt.
- Toast the whole wheat burger buns on the grill or in a toaster.
- Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom bun, followed by the cooked lamb patty, sliced cucumber, and tomato. Drizzle with the yogurt sauce and top with the other half of the bun.
- Serve immediately with a side of your choice.
