Ingredients

  • Octopus - 400 grams
  • Olive oil - 4 tablespoons
  • Lemon juice - 2 tablespoons
  • Red wine vinegar - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Oregano - 1 teaspoon, dried
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Chili flakes - 1/4 teaspoon (optional)

Steps

  1. Clean the octopus by removing the beak and ink sac, then rinse thoroughly under cold water.
  2. In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil and add the octopus. Simmer for 30-40 minutes until tender, then drain and let cool.
  3. While the octopus is cooling, prepare the marinade by whisking together olive oil, lemon juice, red wine vinegar, minced garlic, chopped parsley, oregano, salt, black pepper, and chili flakes in a bowl.
  4. Once the octopus has cooled, chop it into bite-sized pieces and add it to the marinade. Mix well to ensure the octopus is evenly coated.
  5. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  6. Serve chilled or at room temperature, garnished with additional parsley if desired.
