- Semolina - 100 grams
- Granulated sugar - 150 grams
- Water - 300 ml
- Unsalted butter - 30 grams
- Chopped walnuts or almonds - 50 grams
- Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
- Ground cinnamon - 1/2 teaspoon
- Powdered sugar - for dusting
Steps
- In a saucepan, combine water and granulated sugar, and heat over medium heat until the sugar dissolves completely.
- Add the semolina to the saucepan gradually, stirring continuously to prevent lumps from forming.
- Once the mixture thickens, reduce the heat to low, and add the butter, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and chopped nuts, stirring well to combine.
- Continue to cook for another 5-10 minutes until the mixture is fully cooked and pulls away from the sides of the pan.
- Remove from heat and transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
- Allow it to cool at room temperature for at least 15 minutes, then cut into squares or diamond shapes.
- Dust the top generously with powdered sugar before serving.
