- Fresh mint leaves - 2 tablespoons, finely chopped
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Red onion - 1 small, finely chopped
- Cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Lettuce leaves - 4, for serving
- Tomato - 1 large, sliced
- Cucumber - 1 small, sliced
- Tzatziki sauce - 100 grams, for serving
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground lamb, chopped mint, minced garlic, red onion, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Divide the mixture into 2 equal portions and shape them into patties about 2.5 cm thick.
- Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the lamb patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.
- While the burgers are cooking, prepare the tzatziki by mixing yogurt, grated cucumber, garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, and salt in a small bowl (optional, if not using store-bought).
- To serve, place each lamb burger on a lettuce leaf, top with tomato slice, cucumber slices, and a generous dollop of tzatziki sauce.
