Ingredients

  • Ground lamb - 400 grams
  • Fresh mint leaves - 2 tablespoons, finely chopped
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Red onion - 1 small, finely chopped
  • Cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Lettuce leaves - 4, for serving
  • Tomato - 1 large, sliced
  • Cucumber - 1 small, sliced
  • Tzatziki sauce - 100 grams, for serving

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground lamb, chopped mint, minced garlic, red onion, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Divide the mixture into 2 equal portions and shape them into patties about 2.5 cm thick.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the lamb patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.
  4. While the burgers are cooking, prepare the tzatziki by mixing yogurt, grated cucumber, garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, and salt in a small bowl (optional, if not using store-bought).
  5. To serve, place each lamb burger on a lettuce leaf, top with tomato slice, cucumber slices, and a generous dollop of tzatziki sauce.
