Ingredients

  • Ground beef or lamb - 200 grams
  • Phyllo pastry sheets - 4 sheets
  • Eggs - 2 large
  • Greek yogurt - 100 grams
  • Feta cheese - 50 grams, crumbled
  • Onion - 1 medium, finely chopped
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F).
  2. In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the ground beef or lamb to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spatula. Season with salt, black pepper, and paprika. Cook for another 5-7 minutes.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, Greek yogurt, crumbled feta cheese, and chopped parsley until well combined.
  5. Layer 2 sheets of phyllo pastry in a greased baking dish, brushing each layer with a little olive oil. Let the edges hang over the sides.
  6. Spread the cooked meat mixture evenly over the phyllo base.
  7. Pour the egg and cheese mixture over the meat layer, spreading it evenly.
  8. Fold the overhanging phyllo sheets over the filling, then layer the remaining 2 sheets on top, brushing each with olive oil.
  9. Cut a few slits in the top layer to allow steam to escape.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the phyllo is golden brown and crispy.
  11. Let cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
