- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Warm water - 50 ml
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Sesame seeds - 30 grams
Steps
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Add the Greek yogurt and olive oil to the flour mixture and mix until crumbly.
- Gradually add warm water until the dough comes together; knead for about 5 minutes until smooth.
- Cover the dough with a kitchen towel and let it rest for 10 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (390°F).
- Divide the dough into two equal pieces and shape each piece into a ring, ensuring there’s enough space to add cheese in the center.
- Fill the center of each ring with crumbled feta cheese, then pinch the dough to seal it.
- Brush the surface of the rings with a little water and sprinkle sesame seeds generously over them.
- Place the Koulouri on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
