  • All-purpose flour - 200 grams
  • Greek yogurt - 100 grams
  • Feta cheese - 100 grams, crumbled
  • Baking powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Warm water - 50 ml
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Sesame seeds - 30 grams

Steps

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Add the Greek yogurt and olive oil to the flour mixture and mix until crumbly.
  3. Gradually add warm water until the dough comes together; knead for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  4. Cover the dough with a kitchen towel and let it rest for 10 minutes.
  5. Preheat the oven to 200°C (390°F).
  6. Divide the dough into two equal pieces and shape each piece into a ring, ensuring there’s enough space to add cheese in the center.
  7. Fill the center of each ring with crumbled feta cheese, then pinch the dough to seal it.
  8. Brush the surface of the rings with a little water and sprinkle sesame seeds generously over them.
  9. Place the Koulouri on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
