Ingredients
- Lamb shoulder - 300 grams
- Octopus - 200 grams, cleaned
- Olive oil - 3 tablespoons
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Lemon - 1, juiced
- Oregano - 1 teaspoon, dried
- Thyme - 1 teaspoon, dried
- Bay leaves - 2
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
- Water - 200 milliliters
Steps
- Preheat your oven to 160°C (320°F).
- In a large ovenproof pot, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Cut the lamb shoulder into large chunks and season with salt and black pepper. Add the lamb to the pot and brown on all sides, approximately 5-7 minutes.
- Add the octopus to the pot, pour in the lemon juice, water, and the remaining olive oil. Stir in the oregano, thyme, and bay leaves.
- Cover the pot with a tight-fitting lid and place it in the preheated oven. Cook for 1.5 hours until the lamb is tender and the octopus is cooked through.
- Once cooked, remove from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before serving. Discard the bay leaves and serve hot.
