Ingredients

  • Ground lamb - 400 grams
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Dried oregano - 1 tablespoon
  • Fresh mint - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Lemon zest - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Feta cheese - 50 grams, crumbled
  • Lettuce leaves - 4 large
  • Cucumber - 1/2, sliced
  • Tomato - 1, sliced
  • Red onion - 1/4, thinly sliced
  • Tzatziki sauce - 100 grams

Steps

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground lamb, minced garlic, dried oregano, chopped mint, lemon zest, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Form the mixture into two equal patties, about 2.5 cm thick.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for 5-7 minutes on each side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 70°C.
  4. While the patties are cooking, prepare the toppings: slice the cucumber, tomato, and red onion.
  5. Once the patties are cooked, remove them from the skillet and let them rest for a few minutes.
  6. To assemble the burgers, place each lamb patty on a large lettuce leaf, top with crumbled feta cheese, cucumber slices, tomato slices, red onion, and a generous dollop of tzatziki sauce.
  7. Wrap the lettuce around the fillings and serve immediately.
