- Ground lamb - 400 grams
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Dried oregano - 1 tablespoon
- Fresh mint - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Lemon zest - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Feta cheese - 50 grams, crumbled
- Lettuce leaves - 4 large
- Cucumber - 1/2, sliced
- Tomato - 1, sliced
- Red onion - 1/4, thinly sliced
- Tzatziki sauce - 100 grams
Steps
- In a large bowl, combine ground lamb, minced garlic, dried oregano, chopped mint, lemon zest, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Form the mixture into two equal patties, about 2.5 cm thick.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for 5-7 minutes on each side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 70°C.
- While the patties are cooking, prepare the toppings: slice the cucumber, tomato, and red onion.
- Once the patties are cooked, remove them from the skillet and let them rest for a few minutes.
- To assemble the burgers, place each lamb patty on a large lettuce leaf, top with crumbled feta cheese, cucumber slices, tomato slices, red onion, and a generous dollop of tzatziki sauce.
- Wrap the lettuce around the fillings and serve immediately.
