Ingredients

  • Ground beef - 250 grams
  • Ground pork - 250 grams
  • Almond flour - 30 grams
  • Egg - 1 large
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Onion - 1 small, finely chopped
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Dried oregano - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Crushed tomatoes - 200 grams
  • Feta cheese - 50 grams, crumbled
  • Kalamata olives - 50 grams, sliced

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, almond flour, egg, minced garlic, chopped onion, parsley, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. Form the mixture into meatballs, about 2.5 cm in diameter.
  4. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Brown the meatballs on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Transfer the browned meatballs to a baking dish and bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes.
  6. In the same skillet, add the crushed tomatoes and remaining tablespoon of olive oil. Simmer for about 5 minutes to thicken slightly.
  7. Once the meatballs are done baking, add them to the skillet with the tomato sauce and gently toss to coat.
  8. Serve the meatballs warm, topped with crumbled feta cheese and sliced Kalamata olives.
