Ingredients

  • Cauliflower rice - 400 grams
  • Ground lamb or beef - 250 grams
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Onion, finely chopped - 1 medium
  • Garlic, minced - 2 cloves
  • Tomato paste - 2 tablespoons
  • Crushed tomatoes - 200 grams
  • Oregano, dried - 1 teaspoon
  • Cinnamon - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Feta cheese, crumbled - 50 grams
  • Parsley, chopped - 2 tablespoons

Steps

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
  2. Add the minced garlic and ground lamb or beef to the skillet. Cook until the meat is browned, breaking it up with a spoon, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Stir in the tomato paste, crushed tomatoes, oregano, cinnamon, salt, and black pepper. Mix well and let it simmer for 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  4. While the meat sauce is simmering, steam the cauliflower rice according to package instructions or until tender, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Once the cauliflower rice is ready, add it to the meat sauce and stir to combine. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to heat everything through.
  6. Serve hot, topped with crumbled feta cheese and chopped parsley.
