- Egg - 1, beaten
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons (for frying)
- Greek yogurt - 200 grams
- Cucumber - 1/2, grated
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Dried dill - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/4 teaspoon (for tzatziki)
Steps
- In a large bowl, combine the ground lamb, ground beef, bread crumbs, chopped red onion, minced garlic, parsley, mint, beaten egg, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Shape the mixture into small meatballs, about the size of a golf ball.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook for about 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally, until browned and cooked through.
- While the meatballs are cooking, prepare the tzatziki. In a bowl, mix the Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, lemon juice, dried dill, and salt until smooth. Adjust seasoning to taste.
- Once the meatballs are cooked, remove them from the skillet and let them rest for a minute.
- Serve the keftedes warm with a generous side of tzatziki for dipping.
