- Chicken breast - 300 grams
- Red onion - 1 medium, chopped
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Skewers - 4 (if using wooden, soak in water for 30 mins)
- Greek yogurt - 200 grams
- Cucumber - 1/2 medium, grated
- Fresh dill - 1 tablespoon, chopped
- Salt - 1/4 teaspoon (for yogurt sauce)
Steps
- In a bowl, combine chopped chicken, red onion, minced garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, paprika, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Mix well and marinate for at least 15 minutes.
- While the chicken is marinating, prepare the yogurt sauce by mixing Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, chopped dill, and salt in a separate bowl. Set aside in the refrigerator.
- Preheat the grill or BBQ to medium-high heat.
- Thread the marinated chicken onto the skewers, packing them tightly but not overcrowding.
- Grill the skewers for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through and has nice grill marks.
- Remove the skewers from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes.
- Serve the kebabs with the yogurt sauce on the side.
