Ingredients

  • Chicken breast - 300 grams
  • Red onion - 1 medium, chopped
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Skewers - 4 (if using wooden, soak in water for 30 mins)
  • Greek yogurt - 200 grams
  • Cucumber - 1/2 medium, grated
  • Fresh dill - 1 tablespoon, chopped
  • Salt - 1/4 teaspoon (for yogurt sauce)

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine chopped chicken, red onion, minced garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, paprika, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Mix well and marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  2. While the chicken is marinating, prepare the yogurt sauce by mixing Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, chopped dill, and salt in a separate bowl. Set aside in the refrigerator.
  3. Preheat the grill or BBQ to medium-high heat.
  4. Thread the marinated chicken onto the skewers, packing them tightly but not overcrowding.
  5. Grill the skewers for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through and has nice grill marks.
  6. Remove the skewers from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes.
  7. Serve the kebabs with the yogurt sauce on the side.
