Ingredients

  • Ground lamb - 250 grams
  • Ground beef - 250 grams
  • Garlic cloves - 2, minced
  • Red onion - 1 small, finely chopped
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Pita bread - 2 pieces
  • Tomato - 1, sliced
  • Cucumber - 1/2, sliced
  • Red bell pepper - 1, sliced
  • Tzatziki sauce - 100 grams

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground lamb, ground beef, minced garlic, chopped red onion, parsley, cumin, paprika, salt, black pepper, and 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly incorporated.
  2. Shape the meat mixture into long, thin kebabs and thread them onto skewers (if using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 30 minutes prior to prevent burning).
  3. Preheat the grill or a grill pan over medium-high heat and brush with the remaining olive oil.
  4. Grill the kebabs for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are well browned and cooked through.
  5. While the kebabs are cooking, warm the pita bread on the grill for about 1-2 minutes on each side until soft and slightly charred.
  6. Once the kebabs are cooked, remove them from the skewers and place them in the warm pita bread.
  7. Top the kebabs with sliced tomato, cucumber, red bell pepper, and a generous dollop of tzatziki sauce.
  8. Fold the pita over the fillings and serve immediately with extra tzatziki on the side.
