Ingredients
- Ground lamb - 250 grams
- Ground beef - 250 grams
- Garlic cloves - 2, minced
- Red onion - 1 small, finely chopped
- Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Pita bread - 2 pieces
- Tomato - 1, sliced
- Cucumber - 1/2, sliced
- Red bell pepper - 1, sliced
- Tzatziki sauce - 100 grams
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground lamb, ground beef, minced garlic, chopped red onion, parsley, cumin, paprika, salt, black pepper, and 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly incorporated.
- Shape the meat mixture into long, thin kebabs and thread them onto skewers (if using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 30 minutes prior to prevent burning).
- Preheat the grill or a grill pan over medium-high heat and brush with the remaining olive oil.
- Grill the kebabs for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are well browned and cooked through.
- While the kebabs are cooking, warm the pita bread on the grill for about 1-2 minutes on each side until soft and slightly charred.
- Once the kebabs are cooked, remove them from the skewers and place them in the warm pita bread.
- Top the kebabs with sliced tomato, cucumber, red bell pepper, and a generous dollop of tzatziki sauce.
- Fold the pita over the fillings and serve immediately with extra tzatziki on the side.
