Ingredients
- Kataifi dough - 150 grams
- Mixed nuts (walnuts, almonds, pistachios) - 100 grams, chopped
- Butter - 50 grams, melted
- Honey - 2 tablespoons
- Greek yogurt - 100 grams
- Cinnamon - 1 teaspoon
- Syrup: Water - 100 ml, Sugar - 100 grams, Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- In a small saucepan, combine water, sugar, and lemon juice. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and let simmer for 10 minutes. Remove from heat and allow to cool.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped nuts with cinnamon and 1 tablespoon of melted butter. Set aside.
- Spread the kataifi dough on a clean surface and gently separate the strands. Brush with melted butter and layer half of the nut mixture evenly across the dough.
- Roll the kataifi tightly into a log and place it in a greased baking dish. Repeat the process with the remaining dough and nut mixture.
- Brush the tops of the kataifi rolls with the remaining melted butter and bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Once baked, remove from the oven and immediately pour the cooled syrup over the hot kataifi, allowing it to soak in.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving with a dollop of Greek yogurt on the side.
