Ingredients

  • Kataifi dough - 150 grams
  • Mixed nuts (walnuts, almonds, pistachios) - 100 grams, chopped
  • Butter - 50 grams, melted
  • Honey - 2 tablespoons
  • Greek yogurt - 100 grams
  • Cinnamon - 1 teaspoon
  • Syrup: Water - 100 ml, Sugar - 100 grams, Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a small saucepan, combine water, sugar, and lemon juice. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and let simmer for 10 minutes. Remove from heat and allow to cool.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped nuts with cinnamon and 1 tablespoon of melted butter. Set aside.
  4. Spread the kataifi dough on a clean surface and gently separate the strands. Brush with melted butter and layer half of the nut mixture evenly across the dough.
  5. Roll the kataifi tightly into a log and place it in a greased baking dish. Repeat the process with the remaining dough and nut mixture.
  6. Brush the tops of the kataifi rolls with the remaining melted butter and bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
  7. Once baked, remove from the oven and immediately pour the cooled syrup over the hot kataifi, allowing it to soak in.
  8. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving with a dollop of Greek yogurt on the side.
