Ingredients

  • Kataifi dough - 200 grams
  • Greek yogurt - 150 grams
  • Mascarpone cheese - 100 grams
  • Honey - 50 grams
  • Unsalted butter - 50 grams, melted
  • Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
  • Pistachios - 30 grams, chopped
  • Water - 100 milliliters
  • Sugar - 50 grams
  • Cinnamon - 1/2 teaspoon

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a saucepan, combine water, sugar, and cinnamon. Bring to a boil and simmer for 10 minutes until slightly thickened, then remove from heat and let cool.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine Greek yogurt, mascarpone cheese, honey, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and creamy.
  4. Take the kataifi dough and separate it into strands. Grease a baking dish with some of the melted butter and spread half of the kataifi evenly in the dish.
  5. Pour the cream mixture over the kataifi layer in the baking dish, then top with the remaining kataifi, drizzling the rest of the melted butter on top.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Once baked, remove from the oven and immediately pour the cooled syrup over the hot kataifi. Allow it to absorb for about 10 minutes.
  8. Serve warm, topped with chopped pistachios.
