- Kataifi dough - 200 grams
- Greek yogurt - 150 grams
- Mascarpone cheese - 100 grams
- Honey - 50 grams
- Unsalted butter - 50 grams, melted
- Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
- Pistachios - 30 grams, chopped
- Water - 100 milliliters
- Sugar - 50 grams
- Cinnamon - 1/2 teaspoon
Steps
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
- In a saucepan, combine water, sugar, and cinnamon. Bring to a boil and simmer for 10 minutes until slightly thickened, then remove from heat and let cool.
- In a mixing bowl, combine Greek yogurt, mascarpone cheese, honey, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and creamy.
- Take the kataifi dough and separate it into strands. Grease a baking dish with some of the melted butter and spread half of the kataifi evenly in the dish.
- Pour the cream mixture over the kataifi layer in the baking dish, then top with the remaining kataifi, drizzling the rest of the melted butter on top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
- Once baked, remove from the oven and immediately pour the cooled syrup over the hot kataifi. Allow it to absorb for about 10 minutes.
- Serve warm, topped with chopped pistachios.
