- Kataifi pastry - 200 grams
- Walnuts, chopped - 50 grams
- Almonds, chopped - 25 grams
- Cinnamon powder - 1 teaspoon
- Butter, melted - 50 grams
- Honey - 60 ml
- Water - 100 ml
- Sugar - 30 grams
- Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- In a bowl, combine the chopped walnuts, almonds, and cinnamon powder. Set aside.
- Gently separate the kataifi pastry strands and place them in a large bowl.
- Pour the melted butter over the kataifi and mix until well coated.
- Take a handful of the kataifi and form a nest shape in your hands, adding a spoonful of the nut mixture in the center.
- Place the nests on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
- While the kataifi is baking, prepare the syrup by combining honey, water, sugar, and vanilla extract in a saucepan. Heat over medium heat until the sugar dissolves and the mixture starts to simmer. Remove from heat and let cool.
- Once the kataifi is done baking, remove it from the oven and immediately drizzle the syrup over the hot nests.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy your delicious kataifi warm.
